Cut national defense spending, put a little bit of that into education and job training, little more into natural resources, energy, and environment. We need to spend more in places that create jobs, not cut in places that can support more jobs.
Changes I would make are add more spending to education and job training, health care, natural resources, energy, and environment, and job and family security. I would also ad more to response to natural disasters, not only nationwide, but also worldwide. However, I would cut some spending on national defense.
I think we need to cut Defense spending. This money should go into Education and Job Training, which will give people the skills to find good jobs or the skills to start businesses that will create new ones, and to Science, Space, and Technology. Funding the latter will create new jobs as well as lead to discoveries whose impact on society is unmeasurable.
Spending should be cut in many areas however it should never be completely cut from one program. Spending in areas such as national defense and some other insignificant government programs and should be increased in areas that will prepare us for the future and increase our competitiveness. This would include, education and natural resources. Other areas are important too like job and family security and natural disaster response.
We do not need to decrease or increase spending. We just need to reallocate these funds. Education should be the highest priority in our country and therefore this area should receive the most money. More funds need to be contributed to infrastructure and medical research as well. National defense should absolutely receive the largest cut due to the enormous amounts of funds we are currently spending to no avail.
I would cut national defense spendings and redistribute the funds to another sector such as Job and Education Training which is one of the more important sectors. Everything else should remain the same since they are already distributed accordingly.
I think that our country spends to much money on war. Think about the Iraq war for a moment, officially we invaded it because it was deemed a threat to national security. I think by now we have fair premise to assume that Iraq as a country is not thinking about fighting us at war so it is time for us to pull out. Engagements in other countries such as Libya I stand behind because so many people clearly want to be liberated from Qaddafi's regime without violence or help in a war. The money we save from cutting out the wars of major engagement should be sufficient for our country to invest in public education and clean energy initiatives. Both things hold promise to give America a running start for the world and economy of future generations.
Like everyone else has noted, money needs to be taken away from national defense and redistributed to education and job training. We need our population to be educated and skilled in order for our production rates to remain high and for people to overall enjoy a decent standard of living. Other areas that could use some additional spending would be research, national resources, and healthcare.
In my opinion too much money is being spent on national defense and I think it needs to be redistributed to education, job training, and research into better ways to use our natural resources. A program should never have a huge cut all at once because of the dramatic effects there will be but gradually I think the funds should all be up for discussion and revised to fit the times.
Our country's spending should be focused on education and investment of cleaner natural energy resources. Improved education would allow the U.S. to become more competitive in the global market. Sustainable energy would reduce our nation's carbon emissions footprints, and also serve as a renewable source. In fact, infrastructure as a whole should be invested in.
Cut payments to interest groups, cut certain national defense projects that haven't produced anything, I would also cut some student aid as well as reducing funding for luxuries in prisons.
i would cut national defense spending, and add to alternative energy and education and job training so that our future career base will be more highly trained and more competitive on a global level.
Cutting defense funds and bringing more troops home while redistributing some of the funds to job training would balance out because soldiers could come back and be ready to train...if we keep rising in economic standings. By the time a bill would be passed or the President would pull the soldiers back we would probably be stable enough to hold their numbers in the unemployment percentage until they got jobs. For the future, the funds should also be split and put into renewable energy to save the environment so we don't all die and education so the coming generation can keep solving the issues that are put on us and those we create.
The changes I would make on spending would come mainly from national defense. A good bulk of our nations money goes toward that when we should be putting the money into education, or creating new way to create energy.
I feel that defense spending should be cut immensely because it could go to other programs that are of more important in the present. For example the money can go into education, social security, and other programs that are being cut while defense spending is increasing.
Changes I would make would be reduce spending on national defense and spend more on education, job training, and research on alternative sources for gasoline and energy usage. This would help improve the minds of our future generations and also keep the planet healthy.
We are spending too much on national defense. By cutting it down to a reasonable amount, the extra funds can go toward education, job training, and public works. Education will lead to a smarter generation and better society. Job training will decrease unemployment. Public works will improve our nation's infrastructure and decrease unemployment.
I don't think I know of any programs I feel should be cut completely. I think we can cut some spending in national defense because we aren't doing as much as we were in the past. I don't know of a lot of gov agencies, but the dumb ones that don't impact us much can be cut. I think we need to stop cutting from education because that's just stupid. We need to invest in programs that will benefit us like new energy and research&development.
