Asia was happy to see Obama win because they were glad that “the world’s most powerful nation did not land in the hands of a novice at a time when Asia needs a seasoned hand at America’s wheel.” Pakistan was hopeful for a Romney victory because they did not like President Obama’s foreign policy towards Pakistan in that he was increasing drone strikes in Pakistan, the American involvement in Pakistan antagonize many bloody mishaps between American troops and CIA contractors, and finally the showdown when the Navy Seals killed Osama Bin Laden was seen as a major breach in Pakistani sovereignty.
ReplyDeleteObama's victory was pleasing to Asia because they believed Obama was more experienced and qualified to run the "most powerful nation". Also, they believed that Romney would have more strict policies with China, and he would try to contain their growth. Pakistan was strongly against Obama because he caused some bloody conflicts in the country, and he commanded a raid that killed Osama bin Laden. Pakistanis believed this was a "breach of Pakistani sovereignty".
ReplyDeleteAsia was pleased to see that Obama was reelected president because they did not want a change and have an inexperienced candidate run the “most powerful nation in the world.” Also, they feared Romney would have stricter policies, especially towards China considering he called them a “currency manipulator.” Paradoxically, Pakistan was disappointed to see Obama reelected because they favored Romney since Obama had breached on their sovereignty. They believe he did this by commanding the raid that killed bin laden and by increasing drone attacks in their country.
ReplyDeleteAsia's joy over the Obama victory stems from their desire for an experienced leader that was capable enough to run the world's top economic power. They needed an experienced leader in the US in order to maintain their economic policies. Further, Asian countries are facing insecurity, and the continued term of President Obama means a better chance at regaining security. Pakistan wanted Governor Romney to win the presidency because they are angry at President Obama's drone strikes on their country, and they are upset with the "bloody mishaps" involving American troops in Pakistan, even in the killing of Osama bin Laden.
ReplyDeleteIn south-east Asia and broader parts of Asia are finding reasons to cheer for Obama's win. The relief was expressed as "The most powerful nation did not land in the hands a novice at a time when Asia needs a seasoned hand at America's wheel". The view probably shared in China was known as the Republicans using threats against China. However, Pakistan is angry about Obama's win. They are angered about the bloody mishaps and the "drone" raids on Pakistan territory.
ReplyDeletePakistan wanted Romney to win because they believed Romney's foreign policy plan was better than president Obama's plan or at least it favored them more than Obama's plan. The Pakistani were very unhappy when President Obama stepped up on the ammount of unmanned air drone raids in Pakistani territory and the "bloody mishaps" involving CIA contractors and American troops. While China on the other hand favored President Obama over Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney because as Ravi Velloor a foreign editor of the Singapore Times puts it “the world’s most powerful nation did not land in the hands of a novice at a time when Asia needs a seasoned hand at America’s wheel.”. Also in Japan Osamu Fujimura, Japans Chief Cabinet Secretary says that its alliance with America is very important in a time of extreme tension in the dispute over Senkaku Islands.
ReplyDeleteAsia was glad Obama won reelection because they feared an inexperienced leader in office would not help them "when Asia needs a seasoned hand at America’s wheel.” Asia also feared China receiving stricter policies from America with Romney's election. Pakistan on the other handed, wanted Romney to take office because they were against the foreign policies inflicted upon them from Obama. With increasing drone strikes, increased American involvement, and a breach that killed Osama Bin Laden, Pakistanis are seeing this as a "breach on Pakistani Sovereignty."

ReplyDeleteObama's victory was satisfying to Asia because they believed Obama was more experienced and qualified to run. They believed the "most powerful nation did not land in the hands of a novice at a time when Asia needs a seasoned hand at America’s wheel." Also, they believed that Romney would have more strict policies with China, and he would try to contain their growth. Pakistan was strongly against Obama because he caused some bloody conflicts in the country, and he commanded a raid that killed Osama bin Laden. Pakistanis believed this was a "breach of Pakistani sovereignty"
Asia was happy because of the Obama re-election because they believe he is more experience and better suited for the position than Romney. Asia believes that America need a seasoned hand at America's wheel. Asia also doesnt really like Romney due to his strict policies against China. They also believe that he would try to contain China. Of course Pakistan was against Obama due to the Osama Bin Laden situation and Pakistans believed this was the Breach of Pakistani sovereignty.
ReplyDeleteObama winning the reelection was a relief to Asia because they felt Romney would have been unfit to run America. Asia believes now is the time for a "seasoned hand" to be steering "America's wheel". Pakistan is still angry over Obama sending troops to raid their country, which led to finding hideouts and eventually killing Osama Bin Laden. Basically anyone who ran against Obama would have had Pakistan in their favor.
ReplyDeleteAsia is glad that obama won reelection because if Romney was elected, the country would land in the hands of a "novice". Also Romney's comments about China being a "currency mniupulator" would one day mean that China would become an issue. Perhaps war? Fortunately we won't ever know. Pakistan wanted Romney to win because they have been angry at Obama for "his stepping up of unmanned drone raids" and that there have been further antagonized by bloody mishaps involving american troops and CIA contractors. He has been labeled the "biggest single national security concern" by the Pakistanis.
ReplyDeleteAsia was happy about Obama's reelection. They didn't want too much change. If an inexperienced candidate ran our nation, they fear we would all be in for a big disaster. Asia also feared drastic policy changes. They especially feared for China. Pakistan was upset that Obama was reelected. They're not exactly on great terms. When Obama killed Bin Laden and sent troops in, this is what set them off.
ReplyDeleteAsia just wanted someone experienced and fit to run America, much to their benefit. Even though they think both candidates are trying towards China's containment, they prefer Obama since he isn't as harsh in his opinions about China and still sees them as a potential partner. However, Romney labeling China as a "currency manipulator" would have spelt trouble from the first day of Romney's presidency, should he have won. Pakistan is disappointed about Mr. Obama winning the election because of drone raids on Pakistani territory and the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. They believe this is a hit against "Pakistani sovereignty.
ReplyDeleteAsia believes “the world’s most powerful nation did not land in the hands of a novice at a time when Asia needs a seasoned hand at America’s wheel.” It also believed that Romney would place stricter policies, especially China, seeing as he had called it a "Currency Manipulator". However, Pakistan is disappointed because under Obama's presidency, America sent in troops and killed Osama Bin Laden.
ReplyDeleteIn south-east Asia and broader parts of Asia are finding reasons to cheer for Obama's win. The relief seen as"The most powerful nation did not land in the hands a novice at a time when Asia needs a seasoned hand at America's wheel". The view in China was probably collective, and was known as the Republicans using threats against China. However, Pakistan is upset with Obama's win. They are not happy with the bloody mishaps and the "drone" raids on Pakistan.
DeleteAsia was glad that Obama won relection because they did not want a novice president in their transition into a major economic and world power. Asia also disliked Romney's and the Republicans possibilty of more military intervention in the Asian region. Romney's threat to lable China as "currency manipulator" also did not help to ease relations with Asia.
ReplyDeletePakistan on the other hand would have preferred to see romney win the election due to the recent drone strikes that have been launched by the Obama administration. Pakistan also strongly disagrees with the America's breach of trust when it came to taking out Osama bin Laden, under the noses of the Pakistany government.
